Markings Magazine
Markings - a literary magazine with a lively editorial style and a commitment to quality.
Founded in 1995, it consistently features nationally and internationally established authors from Britain and abroad. It also seeks new talent, working closely with writers’ groups and libraries and scouts across the country to find tomorrow’s literary stars.
Allied to the poetry performance space, The Bakehouse, Markings brings writers directly to people, in print, in performance and on film and the Internet. It also carries features on art and reviews which aim to review work you won’t find in the High Street bookstore but which is shaping today’s literary culture.
Recent issues include author focus sections and mini publications. These include birthday tributes to poet and playwright, Bernard Kops, and poet and cultural activist, Tessa Ransford; features on writers such as Alan Franks and John Pick have also appeared, alongside collections from Scottish writers such as Gavin Bowd and Josephine Neill.
